一般の人には、どんなことが行われているのかなかなか分かりづらい印刷業。閉ざされがちな業界をもっと身近に感じてもらいたいと考えた印刷会社が社内にオープンしたのは、事前に予約すれば誰でも利用できるワークスペースだ。木工のまち・府中市にある『コトブキ印刷』では、昔から木工製品に印刷するために孔版印刷の一種であるシルクスクリーンを行っていた。シルクスクリーンの魅力を全国に広めている大阪の印刷会社『レトロ印刷JAM』と協力し、好きなデザインを自分の手でTシャツやトートバッグなどにプリントできるこのスペースを開設。地元のクリエイターが作業場として使ったり、飲食店などのスタッフがユニフォームを作ったり、備え付けの缶バッジマシンやリングノートを作成する機械で親子がものづくり体験をしたり…と、街の人々の創作活動を応援する場となっている。
課題や想いを掘り下げ本質に迫ったアウトプットを
1982年創業の『コトブキ印刷』は、印刷業務だけでなく企画やデザイン制作も請け負う会社。社長でグラフィックデザイナーの兄・宗藤勝実さんと、専務でディレクターの弟・正典さんが大切にしているのは、クライアントの抱えている課題や想いなどを汲み取って的確なカタチに表すこと。詳細なヒアリングを通して、うわべだけではない、依頼者の本質に迫ったアウトプットを行っている。 ワークスペースを始めてから、自分のこだわりを詰め込んだものを少ロットで作りたいという声を多く受けるようになり、遠方からの来訪も増加。ユニークな取り組みに「この会社なら柔軟な発想で面白いものを作ってくれそうだ」とシンパシーを感じてくれた人の感性や世界観をグッと掘り下げた提案で、さらなる新規顧客の獲得を狙う。

In “Kotobuki printing” in Fuchu city as woodworking, they had a silk screen which is a kind of stencil printing to print on woodworking products.
Cooperating with Osaka’s printing company “Retro Print JAM” which spreads the charm of silk screen nationwide, the space has been opened that allows you to print your favorite designs on your own T – shirts, tote bags etc.
Finally this place became a place for people to support their creative activities such as the local creators use it as a workplace, staff of restaurant make uniforms, parents and children use machines that create built-in can badge machines and ring notes, etc.

The president who is the elder brother Katsumi MUNETOU as Graphic Designer and senior managing director who is the brother Masanori MUNETOU ,what they are keep in mind is to find out the problems and feelings that client has and to express it with an accurate form.
Through detailed hearing, we are doing output that is close to the essence of the client.
After the establishment of the workspace, so many customer came from far away and they received a lot of requests to make exclusive products with small lot.
Some customers feel sympathy that “this company will make good things with flexible thinking”.
They make proposals that match the sensibility and the view point of such customer.
What they are aiming is to acquire more new customers.
